Portfolio update Semester I 2019
Hello friends, with June ending it means the first semester of 2019 has finished. I thought it would be interesting to reflect on the first six months of the year. Quite a lot has happened!!
The blog launched in February which I’m extremely excited about. So far I have published 15 posts!
In this post I plan to go over the following:
- Passive income change
- Portfolio change
- Total passive income
- Overview by platform
- Savings rate
- Forecast for the second semester
Here we go!!
Passive income change
My crowdlending activities really have gotten more serious during the first semester. As a result passive income has received a nice bump up. In December 2018 my monthly passive income was € 65.68. In June 2019 my passive income increased to a whopping amount of € 856.19 (+ 790.51).
I feel I have made good process with generating a passive income stream and I’m pleased with these results.
Let’s have a look at the portfolio change! I was able to significantly boost my passive income by increasing my deposits. In December my total deposits amounted to € 10.500 and total portfolio size was €10,613.95. In June 2019 my total deposits increased to € 73,600 (+ 63.100). Additionally my total portfolio size increased to € 76,035.22 (+ 65,421.27).
Total passive income
Over the first semester of 2019 my total passive income from crowdlending amounted to € 2,321.27. Not too shabby!! It averages to a monthly passive income of € 386.87. If you compare that to my June income of € 856.19 you can see why I’m expecting this figure to go up significantly for the second semester.
Overview by platform
In the beginning of the year Crowdestate was the only platform I invested with. Six months later I invest with 12!! platforms.
Top 3 earners:
Top 3 XIRR:
See below the details for all the platforms I invest with. Total XIRR is 10.54%. XIRR for platforms like Viventor and Swaper is low due to the short time I have invested with them and it taking time to show its full potential. My Crowdestate investments mainly materialize at the end of the loan period, and it’s the main reasons why my XIRR isn’t above 12%. I’m expecting better results for the second semester!
My savings rate for the first semester is 65.35% or a total of € 15,541.02. Sadly this is still below my ambitious target of 75%. It will be hard to close the gap in the second half of the year, but I do expect to keep my spend lower than I have in the first semester.

Forecast for the second semester
And now time to look ahead and forecast where I will be at the end of the year.
On average I expect to:
- Deposit € 2,500 per month
- Earn € 925 per month on passive income
Plotting that my portfolio will increase to € 76,035.22 + € 3,425*6 = € 96,585.22
This leaves me just short of a crowdlending portfolio of 100k. In fact, based on these assumptions I would hit a 100k portfolio in January 2020!!
Using a portfolio € 96,585.22 at 13% XIRR would return on average € 1,046 so I would be close to 70% of my first target of a passive income stream of € 1,500.
It’s fun to think about these things. I’m excited for the second semester of 2019, I hope you are too!!
